You are staying in a country where the main language is English. You are looking for an opportunity to do volunteer work in a developing country.

Write a letter to the organization you want to work with and tell them:

• Why you are interested in working with them

• What skills and experience you have

• How long you are available to volunteer

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to express my interest in the opportunity to work with your organization ‘EngTraining’ as a volunteer. I learned of your need for an English language tutor to work as a volunteer in Asia from your organization’s website.

I am very interested in the position. The plethora of information on your organization’s online webpages regarding the volunteering activities has got me extremely motivated and enthusiastic to join your team. I would very much want to play a part in tutoring the underprivileged children in South Asia.

My skills and experience are well suited to the position. I have a postgraduate degree and have worked as a teaching assistant for three years during my university studies. My responsibilities were to grade papers and projects. Also, I had to tutor students who needed help.

I am available during the summer from June 1st to August 31st. However, I am flexible with my dates should there be a need to do so. I can be reached at 911-1-1111111 or via e-mail: [email protected].
