IELTS General Writing Task 1 with model answer

You should spend about 20 minutes on this task. Write about the following topic

You are looking for a part-time job at a football club.

Write a letter to the manager of the football club. In your letter
- introduce yourself
- explain what experience and special skills you have
- tell him/her when you think you could start

Write at least 150 words.

Model Answer:

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am a 21-year-old student, and I am studying Sports Coaching Science at Motor University. I am writing to apply for the part-time job at your well-known football club, - YMCA Club.

With a true sportsman spirit, I really enjoy sports, and my areas of interest are basketball, cricket, and football. I have been awarded as the best basketball player at the senior state level tournament. Keeping in mind- my achievements, the university authorities have selected me as a coach for the Junior team. Other than that, last year, I worked as a head coach during holidays in a football club. I will be able to provide references from this summer job and also from my teachers at the university.

I would prefer to work in the evenings and on the weekends, as I have classes during the daytime, and I can start from the beginning of November.
