IELTS General Writing Task 1 with model answer
You should spend about 20 minutes on this task. Write about the following topic
You have just spent a weekend at a friend’s house. When you returned home, you discovered you have left a coat containing some belongings in his house.
Write a letter to your friend.
- telling him that you left the coat
- tell him what the coat looks like
- where you think you left it and what was inside it.
- Make some suggestions about how to get it back.
Write at least 150 words.
Dear Bhoomi,
I hope this letter finds you in the pink of health. I really enjoyed your birthday party last Saturday, and since then I am on cloud nine. Unfortunately, I forgot my overcoat at your place.
It is a black overcoat of Blackberry brand made of up wool and cotton. Probably, you would have noticed an unclaimed coat at your house in your bedroom, when you were cleaning the mess after the party was over. There is my driving license in the inner pocket of the coat, which is of utmost importance to me.
Perhaps it would be a good idea I suppose, if I visit your place on the coming Sunday and collect my belongings; as without the license, I have to commute through public transport. Therefore, I request you to be at home this Sunday, because I may not be able to collect my things afterward.
I am looking forward to meeting you.
Yours truly,
Alpesh Kumar
