IELTS General Writing Task 1 with model answer
You should spend about 20 minutes on this task. Write about the following topic
You eat at your favourite restaurant every day for lunch. You do not like the decor they have chosen.
Write the manager a letter telling him:
- What you think is great about the restaurant?
- What things you think need to be changed?
- Suggestions on ways to improve the decor?
Write at least 150 words.
Dear Mr. Bolts,
I am writing this letter of feedback in regard to the recent changes to the decor of your restaurant, The Purple Onion.
I must first start by expressing that The Purple Onion is my restaurant of choice in Chepstow. The service you provide is equal to none and the country pie is mouthwatering.
However, I was surprised by the recent installation of neon strobe lights to the rear of the restaurant. I found this quite distracting. Further the new paintings depict nude people which is inappropriate for a family restaurant like yours.
As a loyal customer I would like to respectfully suggest that the design of the restaurant may be more appealing to customers if the neon lighting was removed. Additionally, less controversial paintings would have a better all around appeal.
I hope that I you will be able to consider my feedback and I look forward to enjoying many more meals at The Purple Onion.
Yours sincerely,
Maureen Lee
