IELTS General Writing Task 1 with model answer
You should spend about 20 minutes on this task. Write about the following topic
You ordered a new cheque book from your bank two weeks ago but you have received nothing.
Write a letter to your manager complaining about the bad service. In your letter:
- when and how you ordered the cheque book
- ask how much longer you will have to wait
- ask the manager on what action he will on this matter
Write at least 150 words.
Dear Sir,
I have recently ordered a new cheque book from your bank, but I have not received anything yet. I am writing to complain about the bad service that I encountered.
As far as I remember, I placed an order for the cheque book on August 15th, which is exactly two weeks ago. When I placed the order, I was promised that I would receive the cheque book within 2-3 business days. However, I have not received anything. Also, I tried contacting the customer service representative during the last weeks but none of them could help me out.
I would greatly appreciate it if you could let me know the time when I would be receiving the cheque book. I make several transactions every day and having a cheque book is mandatory for me. If it would take longer than a month from today, I plan to approach a different bank that can provide me with a cheque book soon.
I suggest you take some action to prevent these delays in future. In addition, if you can provide some kind of fast-track service to issue cheque books on a priority basis, that would be great. I hope to hear back from you regarding this issue.
Yours faithfully,
Jane Doe.
