IELTS General Writing Task 1 with model answer

You should spend about 20 minutes on this task. Write about the following topic

You will move to a new city for work. You know some people who live there.

• Ask them for help finding accommodation
• Tell them where you would like to live
• Tell them the type of place you are looking for

Write at least 150 words.

Model Answer:

Dear Pam,
I hope this letter finds you in good health. I have taken up a job in Doha and will be moving once the visa formalities are completed, most likely by the end of March 2018. I am writing to seek your guidance in finding accommodation for me.

My office is located in the 'West Bay' suburb and since I will rely on public transportation to commute to work for the first few weeks, I will prefer to live at a place that is close to a bus train contrast on any property at this stage, would you be able to send me the contact details of any reliable real estate agent who can assist me to securing a short term contract.

Apart from this, I am looking for a fully furnished one bedroom apartment and my budget is approximately $1,500 per month. It would be favourable if there are restaurants and general stores in close vicinity.
