IELTS General Writing Task 1 with model answer
You should spend about 20 minutes on this task. Write about the following topic
You will move to a new city for work. You know some people who live there.
Write a letter to your friend. In your letter:
- ask them for help finding an accommodation
- tell them where you would like to live
- tell them the type of place you are looking for
Write at least 150 words.
Dear Sir,
I am very glad to inform you that I am moving to your city Mumbai for work. It is a great honor for me to receive this job opportunity in such a big city like Mumbai.
As I do not know the city, well it will be my first time visiting that place, I would request you to please lend me your support in finding an accommodation in Mumbai. It would be very convenient for me If I can get a place in the close vicinity to my office which is in Meera Road. I am looking for one-bedroom flat as I will be staying alone there, so renting a big apartment is not required. keeping the safety and security in mind, I would love to have a place in a nice complex where other people with families or maybe even bachelorettes are living. Of course, a very important thing which needs to be taken care of is that the rent should be within my budget. As I will not be able to afford paying high rent now.
I would really appreciate if you can help me do all these as you are the person I can rely on. Looking forward to your response.

please rate me on my letter
Dear Nitish,
Hope you will be fine. I would like to inform you that i am moving to your city Bharuch for work. I come to know that city like Bharuch provides good opportunity for work.
As I am new to city, I would urge you to favor me in finding a good accommodation. It would be great if accommodation is near to my working place.
I am comfortable with either flat or any apartment, but it should having 2 Bedroom-Hall-Kitchen and keeping safety and security on prior basis as I will be arranging my family soon. Also, it has some basic facility like gas connection, private bore-well etc. Most importantly renting of house should be in my budget because I will not be able afford a high pay ent.
I would like to hear a positive and quick response as I am aware about your helpful nature.
