IELTS General Writing Task 1 with model answer

You should spend about 20 minutes on this task. Write about the following topic

You are going to another country to study. You would like to do a part-time job while you are studying, so you want to ask a friend who lives there for some help.

Write a letter to your friend. In your letter:
- give details of your study plans
- explain why you want to get a part-time job
- suggest how your friend could help you find a job

Write at least 150 words.

Model Answer:

Dear Sanya,

I hope this letter finds you in the pink of your health. There is good news that I have got the student visa for Canada and I am on cloud nine since then. I will be doing Master’s in Computer Science from Ontario University and classes will be held from Monday to Thursday; thus, I will be free for the remaining days.

I want to utilize those free days more appropriately by doing a part-time job because of the financial issue at home. My father earns an average income and moreover, he has two more mouths to feed; as a result, I want to earn my own bread and do some savings for next semester fees.

Although I know you are a very busy person, I will be really grateful, if you could give me some tips or guide me to secure a part-time job.
