The flow chart shows the detailed process of using digital technology to produce digital pictures, including the role of digital camera, smart card, computer and finally the photo printer.
First, an image or scene is captured through use of a digital camera which can also record a series of images. The information from the digital camera is then stored internally on a smart card inside the camera. Secondly, the recorded digital information is downloaded from the smart card to a computer with the option to make changes such as cropping, enhancing or formatting of the image. The edited picture is then either sent via e-mails or stored by burning it on a CD.
The image is then transmitted to a printer which is fed with photo paper to produce either a colored print or a grayscale photo.
In summary, a digital image is now easily stored and handled using digital technology, computers and printers.
