The diagram below shows the typical stages of consumer goods manufacturing, including the process by which information is fed back to earlier stages to enable adjustment.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Write at least 150 Words.
The given diagram describes the linear process of product manufacturing as well as the feedback mechanism to adjust the process.
Firstly, the raw materials and manufactured components are stored until the product research team and designers agree on the design and the production. After that, the product undergoes a series of steps that include assembly, inspection, testing and packaging. The product then becomes ready for dispatch and finally reaches the sales points.
Secondly, the whole process of manufacturing is subjected to multiple checkpoints where feedback is provided. The first feedback checkpoint is the production planning stage where continuous feedback is provided regarding the storage process. The second feedback checkpoint is included in the testing of the product when feedback is provided about any flaws in design. The market research team regularly provides feedback to the advertisement and packaging teams. Finally, the sales team provides important feedback to both the market research and production planning department to make sure the quality of the products is enhanced so as to ensure better sales.
